8th March 2013

Today I had my third extraction~ This time were both left 4th premolars.. I thought that I'm so clever  this time to hydrate my lips well so that it won't chap like previous experience but ended up the same... Maybe it is due to my anxiety level. When a person in panic/ anxious stage, we breathe with mouth rather than nose. That dry air exhaled may cause my lips chapped!

This time, my lower 4th premolar was really stubborn to take off! (the orthodontist said~) She took quiet sometimes to get it removed. Even though she had given local anesthesia, I still had the sensation of pain before getting off. She further gave me local anesthesia to me.. This round, I experiencing some signs of infection to my lower extracted wound site. Looks like a little slough, a little pain and tender but not major..

Tip: After I had went through second time extraction, this round I learnt how to effectively stop the bleeding in shorter time. Previously, I did changed the gauzes few times.. it took about 2 hours to stop bleeding. My third time, I didn't changed the gauze. Once it was fully soaked, What I did was using tissues to press on the gauze that I bite on so that the blood will transfer to the tissues. The reason is when I remove the gauze which I bite on, partially be blood clots been removed. The wound needs blood to be clotted in order to stop bleeding! If I keep on changing the gauze, the bleeding will never stop as I the blood clots have been removed together with the gauzes!

4th March 2013

Today I had my both right 4th premolars extracted! This time, the fear feeling reduced to almost 99%! I found that front teeth are more difficult to remove and once the local anesthesia went off, I experienced a little more pain. This time, no signs of infection at all. I can start biting on 4th day after extraction.

Initially, I thought that one of my tooth has signs of decay. Picture above shows the teeth I'd removed. When I checked on my 5th upper premolar, I also noticed that it also looks the same as above. I was so worry that I may need to repair it before the bonding day. So, I went to consult with a dentist and she said it is not decay, it is a discoloration due to both teeth rubbed against each other. Fuh~ I'm so much relief then..

But one negative experience I had this time was after the local anesthesia, my lips swollen (expected) causing chapped lips! I learnt a lesson then, next time I must make sure to really moisture my lips before go for my third extraction..

Do you see any difference? My right facial was more puffy compared with my left side...This picture taken just after local anesthesia.. The orthodontist asked to wait for 10 minutes before extraction.
