Today I was terrified. Though I'm not ready to go for extraction of my wisdom teeth but my heart giving me courage to do so. My heart is pumping so fast till I feel like fainting!
I drove alone to dental clinic nearby. Immediately, I'd called for the procedure. I heard from my friend that it is impossible to get both wisdom teeth to be extracted in one go but my dentist allowed to. She said my both wisdom teeth had decayed due to difficult in brushing it. And she said it actually won't caused too much pain if to removed both in one go.So then I agreed.
My heart continued beating fast! Till she injected local anaesthesia to my gum it actually doesn't hurt much as I thought it could be.It was actually fear more than pain... When the local starts to take place, partially my nostril gets numbed followed by my throat. Initially, I feel nauseated due to lost of sensation and I can't swallow. For a little while, the effect gone. After 10 minutes, the dentist started to extract my teeth. It happen so fast till I didn't even realize that both had been extracted.
Afterall, I was then asked to bite on the gauzes to stop bleeding. The dentist did gave me Paracetamol for pain relief.and I had taken 2 tablets before the local anaesthesia wind off. I bite on the gauzes about 2 hours and after that the bleeding subsequently stopped. Numbness eventually gone about 6 hours and yet I don't feel much pain. I would say more to discomfort rather than pain.
The extraction cost me RM160

Today is my first day appointment to see Orthodontist. I had my braces mold done as well as X- Ray. I spent RM400 in first dental consultation and RM10 for registration. Before I went to Dental Clinic, I actually didn't feel the fear. After I'd consulted by Orthodontist, my heart feels so uneasy.
Yes, I'm expecting 4 tooth to be taken out. But now end up with 6 tooth! Fuh~ Very tough... 4 in front and 2 of my upper wisdom tooth. The consultant says I might need to remove another 2 below wisdom tooth if "they" disturb the process of putting the braces. So, I need mental preparation to remove total of 8 tooth!!! FUH~ And it is not easy, the below 2 wisdom tooth may need to do a small incision and break it then remove it by pieces... The thing is I can't have my extraction one shot. Then I need to bear with the pain for at least 3 times!
"You are reading" may think that since I have so much fear, why I still want to go for braces, right? Well, there are few reasons. First, I have distorted tongue due to my disorganized tooth. My tongue being cut by my tooth which cause my pain on and off. It's been many many years.. And I thought I can live with this. But I actually cheating myself. Well, I do feel something just not right.
My tongue is distorted! (~_~)
In order to proceed with my orthodontic procedure, first I need to remove my both upper wisdom tooth. I'm actually in fear... I find that actually I'm not prepared for all these.. But when I look to myself, I tell myself that I need and MUST do something! And this is one of my new year resolution! I have to do it no matter what so that I will never regret in future. And for your information I'm no more young. This year I'm entering 31 years old. I think I'm mature enough to bear these facts which upcoming to change my whole life.
I'm obviously going forward to it and decided to make use this blog as my diary to record down My Experience In Dental Braces. At the same time, those people out there who have the same problems as me get more real life experiences and courage to walk through the journey of wearing dental braces..
Thank you for reading.. Good Luck (to myself)
